Marcus Burlile’s typeface Able is plastered across every Harry Potter related item world-wide and is also used by Scholastic and on the logo for the internet search engine Yahoo!.

I ask him what it feels like to see his font everywhere and have no one know who he is. Marcus recounts a story, "We were at the movies and they had the big Harry Potter poster and my wife said in a really loud voice ‘THERE’S YOUR FONT’. I was like, 'shhhhh!' I figured everyone would be like, 'what’s a font? Don’t they come on the computer? You can buy those?'"

The immense popularity of Able has inspired countless knock-offs. Marcus recently received a call from T-26 to warn him that someone had photocopied a Harry Potter book and was trying to resell his font Able under another name. Type designers are frequent victims of this type of fraud.
